Perfect counterfeit banknotes? Is there such a thing? – possibly, yes. The “Superdollar” is a counterfeit $100 banknote which is thought to originate from North Korea.
During the 1980′s US Intelligence services discovered that the North Korean Government had acquired a sophisticated multi million pound printing press capable of producing authentic US dollar banknotes, along with the correct paper and ink. It is thought that North Korean diplomats then distributed the notes during overseas trips in huge quantities.
Incredibly the printing quality of these notes is actually better than the original and the only current method to detect them is using an infrared scan.
Fortunately, a solution is available!
The COU1100 banknote scanner can effectively detect superdollars along with all other counterfeit Sterling and Euro notes.
